Broken Flow
This game was made in 10 days for a local game jam where the theme was 'Flow'. The obvious thing was to make a game that has to do with water, but that didn't inspire me, so I went with a different concept: the flow of time. This game won 1st place.
In Broken Flow, the flow of time is disrupted as Rion is stuck in an infinite time loop. Can you he escape? And what ramifications would that have?
There is a lot of dialogue (and easter eggs) in the game! Feel free to interact with things multiple times all throughout the game!

Controls/Brief Tutorial:
- WASD or arrow keys to move
- E to interact
- Hold TAB to skip through dialogue
- Interacting with the bed will let you reset the time loop! Sometimes you will need to do this to progress the game if you still have actions left!

/\ -- These are ACTIONS. You have a limited amount per loop displayed at the bottom left of the screen. Certain actions will reduced these actions and when you reach 0 actions, the loop will RESET. These actions are marked with the same symbol.

Warnings/Known Bugs:
(I tried to fix them before time was up, but I only got so far)
- Some scenes depict flashing colors and abrupt sounds
- Since there is so much dialogue, the incorrect dialogue may display at times. Please don't mind if some lines don't make perfect sense.
- Bug where dialogue briefly appears and disappears, and the player cannot move. If this happens, please utilize the hotkey 'SHIFT + \' to force the current time loop to reset.
- Bug where the game crashes when switching loops. The only solution is to restart the game!

Extra Notes:
- There are 3 endings (Bad, Neutral, & Good)
- The game jam took place during my brother's birthday, and he happens to love Among Us. Because of this, I have included around 15 hidden crewmates in various CGs (aka illustrated graphics). Can you find them all? There is also a secret Among Us cutscene and a crewmate hidden on the map.
- The gallery can only be accessed after finishing the game once. If you missed any crewmates while playing, you can review the images in the gallery and find them there!
- This game was partially inspired by the Kindergarten series and 12 Minutes. Both feature time loops and other similar features.

Social Media:
ONLY READ IF YOU WANT HELP ACHIEVING THE GOOD ENDING
Steps (From the beginning of the game):
1. Proceed normally until the axe appears. Grab it, as well as the headband that appears directly below it (near the kitchen). After destroying the door with the axe, interact with Milo again and show him the headband. This will cause the loop to force reset. YOU NEED ALL OF YOUR ACTIONS FOR THIS.
2. Go to the top left of the map and pick up the baseball bat. Proceed as normal. If the loop resets at any point before reaching the lightbulb area, you will need to get the baseball bat again. Proceed normally until you escape the lightbulb area. Once you do, interact with Milo and show him the baseball bat.
3. Proceed as normal until you destroy the grandfather clock. Once you do, some broken glasses will appear near the bottom. Pick them up and destroy all the clocks. Then talk to Milo and show him the glasses. If the loop resets at any point before showing him the glasses, you will need to get the glasses again.
4. If you did all this correctly, then when the portal opens up, you should see TWO choices. Picking 'Leave Alone' will get you the NEUTRAL ending. Picking 'Take Milo With You' will get you the GOOD ending. If you do this incorrectly, there will be only one option called 'Leave Alone', which will give you the BAD ending. Enjoy!

Really good game. I like the art, and the pixel arts as well of this game. The story/writing is really good enough for a game jam, and there are some funny moments as well, that I dig hard a bit anyways, especially sussed out of the loop. I think if there are things to mind for a post-jam update, it will be having to be able to restart a section, instead of having to re-do the game 2 more times.
Still I enjoyed it.
(anyway, I made a playthrough of this game, it’s on the later part of the video. I hope you enjoy!)
Oh, wow, thank you!! I do plan to make a post-jam update to try to fix the crashing bug if I can. I definitely get that replaying several times can be annoying. It’s tricky because certain actions determine the ending possibilities. I’ll try to think of a way to make replaying faster. Hopefully the skip dialogue hotkey made it a bit more bearable! And I’m sorry the browser version didn't work for you! Thank you again for playing and making a video on my game :D
Releasing this so soon after the jam is diabolical. Incredible work ethic.
Thank you, lol! This was required by my school to do, so I kind of had to. Hopefully it's still a good game despite me being tired :')
